The Barns
The large outdoor playground at Doonvale is an exciting place where children of all ages can play safely and happily investigate the outdoors.
The facility is used on a daily basis by all age groups and in all weathers, for cross curricular activities.
During the summer, classroom activities are often transferred to the Barns. Safety tiles have been laid outside which enable children to enjoy safe energetic play and to practise their skills on ride on toys and bicycles.
The Secret Garden

When our children reach the Granary playroom they finally gain access to the much anticipated Secret Garden. This is an old apple orchard adjacent to the nursery building where our children spend many happy hours exploring the natural environment. The boys and girls build mud kitchens and bug hotels; they plant vegetables and flowers to watch them grow or sometimes they simply sit in the sunshine and read stories together (or in the big teepee if it's raining). Doonvale Nursery is a strong believer in Outdoor Learning and the Secret Garden provides endless opportunities for our children to learn in a completely natural environment.
